New Vocabulary Words to Use in Day to Day Life

  1. Leisure – The time when you are not working or doing something.

Most people have a limited amount of leisure time.

  1. Staycation – A vacation spent at home or nearby.

Due to the pandemic they decided to have a staycation and explore local attractions.

  1. Tender – Showing gentleness, kindness, affection; soft and delicate in texture.

She gave him a tender smile while handing a freshly baked cookies.

  1. Gratitude – The quality of being thankful; ready to show appreciation or kindness.

He expressed his attitude to everyone who had helped him during the difficult time.

  1. Crave something – Feel a powerful desire of something.

After months of healthy eating, she craved a slice of brownie cake.

  1. Pursuit – An activity that you spend time doing, usually when you are not working.

I enjoyed outdoor pursuits, like hiking and riding bikes.

  1. Bliss – Complete happiness.

My idea of lying on a sunny beach is a bliss.

  1. Wanderlust – A strong desire to travel and explore the world.

His wanderlust led him to visit over 20 countries in just few years.

  1. Enchantment – A feeling of great pleasure; delight; it can also refer to a state of being under a magical spell.

The children were filled with enchantment as they watched a magician perform his tricks.

  1. Serene – Calm, peaceful, untroubled.

He approached the job with serene confidence that he could succeed where others had failed.
